What To Bring To Camp

Ranger Quest 2002
June 23-29 2002

Ranger Quest Vision Statement

To have a fun and challenging environment to build teamwork and Venturing skills.

Ranger Quest is a high-adventure summer camp for Venturers, Explorers and Scouts 14 years of age or older. Ranger Quest brings together a diverse group of young adults to learn skills and teamwork. Each day they are faced with a challenge that the group must over come.
The group is a youth led camp, electing officers from the group to form a Crew. A President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasure is elected by the group on the first day of camp and act as youth facilitators.

Ranger Quest 2002

Welcome to the 2002 camping season at the Camp Birch Scout Reservation. We have a tremendous facility for you and your Crew or Post to experience the best part of the Venturing outdoor program...Ranger Quest.

Many activities await you and your Venturers or Explorers at Camp Birch. Everything from the thrill of experiencing the natural beauty of our Reservation, to working on high-adventure programs, to taking part in the special activities the Teen Leaders' Council has planned. Leaders whether on board for the entire week or just one night, will also have plenty of activities available.

Our camp staff and officers are committed to providing you the best possible program. Our goal is to be friendly and responsive to the needs of your crew or post and to set an example to all those attending Ranger Quest. The staff has been carefully selected and trained to assist in your stay. They stand ready to help you at any time.

2002 is the second year that Tecumseh Council has held a camp for Venturers and Explorers. It has been planned for Venturers and Explorers by young adults who attend monthly Teen Leaders' Council meetings.

In order for us to meet your needs, it will be important to plan your crew or post activities and advancement. Please take time before camp to determine what your crew or post requirements are and communicate that information to us before you arrive. That will give us the opportunity to assist you in meeting your goal.

If you have any questions, special needs, or just want to talk about your week at Ranger Quest, feel free to contact us. We will be happy to work with your crew or post in any way we can. Again, we are glad to have you on board as a member of the Ranger Quest Team in 2002.

Opportunities for Independent Campers

Camp Birch will be offering an opportunity for individual Venturers, Explorers and Scouts. During Ranger Quest Summer Camp, a special provisional crew will be created for those Venturers, Explorers and Scouts that may chose to come to Camp Birch apart from their unit. Led by an Advisor and Associate Advisor this group of youth will be camping in Cornstalk Campsite and will operate as a special, fully-functioning crew. Take advantage of this opportunity by contacting the Council Service Center.
